Letters to Sam
A Grandfather's Lessons on Love, Loss,
and the Gifts of Life

I first saw Dr. Daniel Gottlieb on TV when his book, "Letters to Sam" was published in 2006. Recently, I found time to read the book. Dr. Gottlieb obviously poured his soul into this book.

This book isn't for Sam only. It's for people who feel misunderstood at times or can't easily express themselves. It's also for people with busy lives who need to slow down a bit to appreciate their lives and loved ones.

In Letters to Sam, Dr. Gottlieb writes:

Real security only comes when we are comfortable with who we are (and the feeling is enhanced when we are in a relationship where there is mutual love and understanding). Real happiness is a byproduct of a life well lived.
[...]
So many of us grown-ups suffer because we are trying to live the life we once had or the life we wish for....Life is much sweeter when we live the life we have.

This is the best advice I've read in a long time. It made me appreciate my husband, my family, friends and the life I have more. Thank you Dr. Gottlieb for the great advice.
